Evaluating Culture Add
WHAT IT IS
Evaluating culture add means assessing whether a candidate strengthens your team's defined working values — and brings perspectives you lack — instead of asking whether they “fit” or whether you'd enjoy a beer with them. It must be scored against written values, like any other competency.
WHY IT MATTERS
Unstructured “culture fit” is where similarity bias hides. It narrows the team, rejects good people for the wrong reasons and is very hard to defend.
